What is fascia? Why is it so trendy nowadays? Find out here

A lot of people are intrigued about fascia, or it may have even come with a context “blasting” which is used in treating cellulite among many women across the United States and other parts of the world, however, talking about fascia have turned into a huge trend recently, and not only because of its context, but also this is used by women who want to don their swimsuits anew.

So, what is fascia in the first place? According to the medical dictionary, fascia is a thin sheet of fibrous tissue which serves to envelop the body beneath our skin, and it is also the enclosure of our muscles and muscle groups which separates their several layers and groups according to the dictionary definition.

However, the definition has way more meaning to it because fascia can also be classified into four different types, each has its own different properties, functions and its own characteristics.

The four types of fascia are the superficial, the deep fascia, the meningeal fascia, and the visceral fascia.

The superficial fascia is the one that surrounds the body that includes the subcutaneous fat, the deep fascia meanwhile is the one that surrounds the musculoskeletal system, the meningeal fascia, on the other hand, is the one that surrounds our nervous system, and lastly, the visceral fascia is the one that surrounds our cavities and organs.

In the mainstream medical industry, fascia is not entirely considered to be in isolation for the causes of different chronic pain conditions and disorders, however, there is a single exception which is our foot’s plantar fasciitis, which is a painful sensation that is experienced   the arch of our foot which is an inflamed fascia that is responsible for the painful sensation.

The inflammation is the one that causes to the stiffening and the bad flexibility developing around the fascia.
